Welcome to South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum
The Forum was established to enable manufacturing companies, within the Borough of South Tyneside, to work together to resolve common issues.
There are three primary areas of consideration:
Information Hub: By collating and distributing information, the Forum hopes to:
- Establish a "Single Voice for Manufacturing" within the Borough;
- Extol the virtues of South Tyneside as a prime geographical area for manufacturing business: and
- Capitalise on available assistance, including financial support.
Collaboration: By raising common issues, the Forum can:
- Share problems and work together on optimum solutions;
- Identify opportunities for developing best practice within manufacturing business; and
- Inter-trade between Member Companies
Skills: By encouraging involvement with Schools, the College and local Universities, and other training organisations, the Forum will:
- Seek to ensure that the necessary skills are being developed within today's and tomorrow's workforce.
- Coordinate activities within Schools, the College and with the Young People throughout the Borough;
- Resolve, where possible, skill shortfalls within businesses; and
- Promote Manufacturing as a worthwhile career.
