The South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum (STMF) is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to raising the level of understanding of manufacturing within the community.
We aim to provide practical help and support to Schools and Colleges by working with the Educational Business Partnership (EBP) Blue Venture, STMF members can help raise the aspirations of young people by becoming directly involved in initiatives which encourage young people to develop the key skills that are required for the world of work. For schools, the EBP can provide support in all aspects of the curriculum, generating links with employers through the STMF who can help to bring a real life perspective to the curriculum. Programmes and activities support the elements of the work related learning framework for KS4, and can support careers and PSHE programmes. Many students find that, being involved with employers, increases their motivation to learn, and helps them to have a much better understanding of what will be required of them once they enter the world of work.
